  Beautiful B&B right on the Clarence river, the room was nice and spacious. Great breakfast in the morning. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. I absolutely recommend trying some of the hosts own wine, perfect for sitting on the balcony and looking at the view.

  You can spend a relaxing time sitting on the veranda reading or just looking at the scenery, talking to Zac & Zoe, the resident canines or visiting the chickens.

  Just got home after spending 7 nights at the Squeakygate. The room was very comfortable and bigger than what we expected. I easily spent many hours in the evening sitting on the balcony listening to the country. Very soothing and relaxing which is why we were there. You get a beautiful view of the Clarance River from the room. Cheryl is a great cook and both Cheryl and Lance go to great lengths to ensure your comfort. We highly recommend the Squeakygate Retreat and B & B.

  This review might sound a bit sugary, but it's just the impression this bed and breakfast left on me. My family and I stayed at the Squeakygate Retreat in early January for one night. It was one of those places that makes you want to come back. It may not be right straight off the highway, but it is definitely worth spending the time to make the small drive out. We were in Australia for two weeks and this was the best place that we stayed in and our best night of sleep. It was relaxing, and our hosts, Lance and Cheryl, were very accommodating. Even though we arrived a bit late, we received only smiles and good humor. Across the street from the B&B are lovely views of the Clarence river, which you can also see off of the deck along with a view of a beautiful field. Our room was clean and comfortable and there were all of the essentials (sugar, pots, pans, glasses, etc.) that we needed in order to make food, along with tea, coffee, and biscuits. In the morning they prepared a lovely breakfast for us :) Thank you for the truly amazing time! We hope to come back and visit in the future.

  My wife and I booked to stay for 3 nights and by the end of our stay, we wished we didn’t have to leave. Lance & Cheryl greeted us like long lost friends and immediately made us feel at home.

  Nestled on the banks of the Clarence River, you can enjoy the lights of Maclean at night across the water. It feels like you are a long way from civilisation but you are really only a short drive to both Maclean and Yamba.

  Lance and Cheryl are wonderful hosts and the Squeaky Gate B&B is a great spot to stay. We stayed in the large room which was very comfortable and cosy. We felt like we were staying in someone's home - but it's not intrusive because we had a separate area. Cheryl cooked us a lovely dinner and a nice continental breakfast which was great because the B&B is off the beaten track.
